Project Vision

This logo is a hand lettering project that I created for a bookstore and coffee shop that I’d love to open in the future.

I wanted it to be a fun and inviting design that also embodied some sophistication.

Goals

1 - Create a design that is approachable yet sophisticated.

2 - The logo must have a great icon that can stand on its own for merchandise and marketing needs.

3 - The logo should look great in a shop window considering it’s a brick-and-mortar business.

1. Research

Considering this would be hand-lettered, I spent a lot of time looking at serif fonts to draw inspiration from. I also researched designs with icons that I felt could stand out on their own and still be attributed to the brand.

3. Design

It was also very important that the design look great in a shop window, considering this would be a brick-and-mortar business. It should draw your eye and make you want to step in as you walk around the city, gaining sales from street traffic.
